Beaches

We are lucky to be surrounded by the best of beaches here on our beautiful coastline. Ardmore is probably our favourite but there are loads of hidden gems near Dungarvan that you won’t find on the internet. Our advice – ask a local for their preference and some very clear directions!

Walks

If you’re staying anywhere near Ardmore or An Rinn (Ring) make sure you do either An Coinigéar (Cunnigar) walk or the Cliff Walk in Ardmore, or both! The Cunnigar is truly unique and takes about 1.5hours to walk to the tip of the sand-spit and back. The Cliff Walk is beautiful. The clue is in the title – walk along the cliff edge in Ardmore taking in the views and wrap around the historic Round Tower.

Other popular walks in the locality are;

Ballysaggartmore Towers (The Towers), Outside Lismore – A looping trail so you can start either left or right, both slope upwards quite steeply but the walk to the top is so worth it. Perfect for a picnic and dipping your feet in the river in summer time.

Mahon Falls, Comeragh Hills – Take a spin on the Comergah Drive and find the faerie tree and magic road on your way to Mahon Falls. This is a fairly easy walk to the river with the falls above you. Any dogs must be on a lead for the safety of farm animals.

Colligan Woods, Colligan – There are two trails that take in the river and woodlands, check out the map board across the river from the car park.
